The Mersey Gateway is a cable-stayed bridge stretching over 2,000 m from Runcorn to Widnes

Infrastructure

Where smart engineering meets digital expertise

For over 30 years, we’ve been involved in delivering some of the UK’s most complex roads, tunnels and bridges. By using modern technology alongside our trusted temporary works systems, we help you deliver infrastructure that is built to last.

Infrastructure Projects

A VARIOKIT cantilevered parapet carriage serves for constructing the external cantilevered parapets. The horizontal loads are transferred via friction, anchoring is not required.
Two 175 m high piers at a distance of 472 m from each other, take the loads of this cable stay construction which connects both sides of the Cooper River.
With some supplementary system components, the VARIOKIT engineering construction kit can also be used for the balanced cantilever construction method. For the construction of the motorway bridge near Tarnow, the construction crew achieved a 4 to 5-day cycle thanks to the easy to use, mechanical solution. At the same time, the high requirements concerning the very small tolerances for the variable bridge cross-sections could be fulfilled.
The constantly-changing cross-section of the superstructure placed great demands on the VARIOKIT system equipment.
Tunnel formwork carriage on the basis of the VARIOKIT civil engineering construction kit for the six additional concreting sections at the southern portal carried out parallel to the construction of the main tunnel elements.
VARIO GT24 Girder formwork being used to construct the 15m high walls. This system is able to withstand high load bearing due to the girder system
Bold designs and extraordinary architectural concrete fulfilled. In addition, the utmost accuracy was required for the subsequent glazing work

1277 bespoke VARIO shutters were fabricated and delivered to the site
The A52 Clifton Bridge, a major National Highways upgrade project in Nottingham, is a complex structure, which required repairs inside and underneath the bridge to strengthen the concrete.
The drum formwork was integrated with heavy-duty trusses comprising RCS rail frames and heavy-duty rollers to facilitate movement.
The Tideway project will redirect sewage overspill from the most polluting overflow points via purpose-built shafts along the River Thames.
One of the most significant infrastructure projects ever undertaken in the UK, London’s Crossrail is a high-frequency, high-capacity service enabling faster travel across the capital.
PERI UP Easy provides access on Blake Tower
A huge birdcage scaffold on the basis of PERI UP Rosett provided safe access ways and working areas for subsequent site activities up to a height of nearly 80 m.
Replacing the membrane was carried out during ongoing daily airport operations. Maximum safety was ensured through a large-area protective roof construction installed at the height of the forum area in addition to the safety netting underneath the scaffolded roof sections.
Project-specific formwork ascends on MECD’s irregular-shaped cores.
The efficient PERI UP system is quick and easy to erect, and it provided safe access to the site.
PERI’s SKS single-sided climbing system, complete with a mixture of RUNDFLEX and TRIO shutters was used to form the concrete liner.
PERI UP Modular System Scaffolding was used for the external scaffold around the three digester tanks.
The Werrington Grade Separation scheme will make way for a new diveunder railway line.

Custom-made cleats realised the unique shape of the piers.
Within a 2-3 year period, a total of 86,400 flights are simulated which is three times the expected service life. The PERI UP working scaffold allows test preparations as well as continuous measurement and inspection work to be carried out during the EF-2 testing phase. (Photo: IABG)
The Auditorio de Tenerife is used as a concert hall and is an example of the almost unlimited possibilities provided by concrete construction. The formwork technology required for such a structure presented a special challenge which our engineers solved in a rational and safe manner.
Each MULTIPROP has an integrated tape measure which can be pre-set before erection saving time-consuming measuring and re-adjustments
A timber gridshell shapes the undulating roof and gives the distillery its unique geometry
Only 7 months after beginning the excavation and foundation work, the topping-out ceremony took place; 8 months later, production started in August 2009.

In a construction time of only two years, a total of 120 individual structures were built on an area equivalent to 80 football pitches.
The temporary works provided support to the 14.50m 2-floor element and pvodided a matrix of steel-deck working platforms enabling safe access and close monitoring during massive concrete pours
The close mesh panels provide a safe and secure enclosure whilst still allowing light to penetrate
For the renovation of an arched bridge built in 1940, a scaffold construction on the basis of PERI UP modular scaffolding was erected.
